Air New Zealand moves to new home at LAX's Tom Bradley International Terminal
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Air New Zealand has today moved its Los Angeles airport operations from Terminal 2 to the newly-refurbished Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Flight NZ6 will be the airline's first arriving flight at the terminal, expected to touch down at LAX at 10:30 a.m. local time. The airline's first departing flight from Tom Bradley International Terminal will be NZ2, departing at 4 p.m. local time to London Heathrow.
Customers departing from the terminal today are invited to celebrate the airline's new home with a special event at Gate 134.
Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Experience Carrie Hurihanganui says today's move is a significant milestone for the airline in the North American market.
"Air New Zealand has been flying from Auckland to Los Angeles for almost 50 years now. The move to Tom Bradley International Terminal signals the start of a new era for our airline in Los Angeles and will allow us to provide our customers with a more seamless and enhanced experience on the ground there," says Mrs Hurihanganui.
Air New Zealand customers will enjoy more than 150,000 square feet of retail and dining space in the great hall, and to those eligible, access to the state-of-the-art Star Alliance Lounge, designed and managed by Air New Zealand. Other benefits include better connectivity to ports within the US, faster processing and an enhanced transit experience.
The airline has also increased services on its North American routes and currently operates double daily services between Auckland and Los Angeles (triple daily on select dates over high season) as well as a daily service between Auckland and London, all using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
