Affinion Group's Partnership was honored at the 2017 Restore Hope Banquet
STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Affinion Group, a Fairfield County-based global leader in loyalty and customer engagement, was named as a recipient of the Bridgeport Rescue Mission's Corporate Compassion in Action award, which was announced last week at its annual 2017 Restore Hope Banquet.
Bridgeport Rescue Mission is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1993 to address the issues of hunger, homelessness and addiction in Fairfield County. By providing a variety of services to the community, including a food and clothing outreach program, emergency shelters for men, women and children, job training and employment services, Bridgeport Rescue Mission is a leader in the fight against poverty in Southwestern Connecticut.
"We are proud of our partnership with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission and our collaborative efforts throughout the year to serve our local community," said Jim Daly, Chief Human Resources Officer for Affinion Group. "Our employees have made a commitment to provide support for families in need and we are honored to be recognized for our dedication."
Affinion Group began the partnership with a commitment to be a Gold Sponsor for Bridgeport Rescue Mission's 2016 Great ThanksGiving Project, which provided over 3,000 turkeys, fixings, and 15,000 winter coats to area families in need. In addition, Affinion made donation of thousands of gift cards to local families in need, redeemable at local area stores in Bridgeport and Stratford.
Affinion Group was selected as the Corporate Compassion in Action honoree for their financial support, ongoing employee volunteer program, and year-round calendar of events and activities like food collections and coat drives that benefited the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
"Affinion has displayed a willingness to serve the hungry, homeless and addicted with hands-on help throughout the year," said Kim Fawcett, Major Gifts & Donor Relations Officer for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. "The company's efforts made a significant impact on the lives of the less fortunate in the community and we are grateful for their dedicated service."
The 2017 Restore Hope Banquet took place on Thursday, October 5th at the Crowne Plaza in Stamford, CT.
