AFA Announces CyberFutures Symposium & Technology Exposition
ARLINGTON, Va., June 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Force Association (AFA) today announced the 2011 CyberFutures Symposium and Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C.
The new symposium will be March 31 – April 2, 2011, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on the Potomac River, in National Harbor, across from Old Town Alexandria and minutes from downtown Washington, DC. The Symposium and Exposition will coincide with the championship round of CyberPatriot III, AFA's unique national high school cyber defense competition.
AFA's CyberFutures Symposium will focus on critical cyber security policy choices facing our nation – choices that will determine our national security and prosperity in an increasingly interconnected world. Topics will range from developing the human talent necessary for our long-term success to defining a sustainable division of responsibility and effort in the cyber domain while exploring novel cooperative arrangements across agencies and sectors. Speakers will be invited to represent the top policy leadership in the discipline from industry, academia and government. This unique symposium will attract the top echelon of senior leadership and provide a venue for an unprecedented sharing of views and ideas.
"We are proud to announce the first annual CyberFutures Symposium and Technology Exposition for next Spring in Washington, D.C.," said Joe Sutter, Chairman of the Board for AFA. "AFA's new Symposium will provide an important forum on cyber security policy developments and novel concepts."

"AFA is announcing the CyberFutures Symposium because cyber security is vital to our nation's future," said Mike Dunn, President of AFA. "Cyberspace is a complicated, growing domain that is increasingly under attack, and we look forward to energetic discussion of a broad range of cyber defense issues."
The CyberPatriot III finals, presented by Northrop Grumman Corporation, and awards banquet will conclude the event.
Each year, AFA also hosts the Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition in September, also at the Gaylord, as well as the Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando in February and the Global Warfare Symposium in Los Angeles in November.
