The panel will be moderated by Sharon Burke, adviser to the Pew project on national security, energy, and climate and former assistant secretary of defense for operational energy.

The event, Hard Power: Challenges and Opportunities in Energy Security for the Department of Defense, will take place at Pew's offices in Washington, D.C., and via live webcast. These officials will discuss working to maintain national security with clean energy technologies.

Responding to the presentations of our panelists and drawing from her experience as the first assistant secretary of defense for operational energy, Ms. Burke will share her thoughts, moderate the follow-on discussion, and conclude with a question-and-answer session with the audience.
