MONUMENT, Colo., Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advisors Asset Management (AAM), a leading investment solutions provider specializing in investment solutions and support services that financial advisors can leverage to expand their businesses and help meet their clients' needs, announced today that its ACT-Navellier/Dial High Income Opportunities Portfolio has exceeded $1 billion in assets.

The ACT-Navellier/Dial High Income Opportunities Portfolio is a unit investment trust (UIT) which provides investors the opportunity to own a variety of investment-grade corporate bonds without the expense or hassle of creating such a portfolio on their own. The trust seeks to provide high current interest income and capital preservation.
In April, another UIT under the AAM umbrella, the High 50 Dividend Strategy Portfolio, also surpassed $1 billion in assets. As of June 30, AAM oversees nearly $7 billion in UIT assets. Investors find UITs advantageous because they provide full portfolio transparency, including information about maturity dates, expected income streams and the securities included in portfolios.
"We are extremely pleased with the success of our UIT offerings and are committed to continuing to seek out strategies and partners that provide solutions that help advisors and their clients create much-needed income streams across a variety of disciplines and market conditions," said Andrew Williams, President of AAM. "In particular, the growth of the ACT-Navellier/Dial High Income Opportunities Portfolio demonstrates the power of the UIT structure in creating a diversified portfolio of investment-grade corporate bonds with permanence, definition and competitive daily liquidity that very few financial advisors could replicate on their own. It is truly a unique solution for today's low-interest-rate environment."
The portfolio was selected by Navellier & Associates, Inc. with assistance from Dial Capital Management, LLC. Bonds were selected for the portfolio after a comprehensive analysis of each issuer's ability to meet its obligations over various economic scenarios, with the goal of finding companies with sufficient cash flow and the financial stability which may help to weather unexpected market changes.
"We are incredibly proud of our association with AAM and of the great success of the AAM ACT-Navellier/Dial High Income Opportunities UIT series," said Louis Navellier, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Navellier & Associates. "We believe the gap between corporate bond yields and Treasuries will continue to provide attractive opportunities in the fixed-income markets for a very long time to come. We feel that we have found a unique way to structure a portfolio of attractive corporate bonds, while controlling duration risk in order to create fixed-income portfolios that have generated solid yields and limited risks."

UITs are sold only by prospectus. Investors should consult their financial advisor or other investment professional and carefully consider the trust's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses before investing. As with any investment, investors may lose money by investing in UITs and the trust may not perform as well as expected. Investing in a UIT is a long-term strategy and investors should consider their ability to invest in successive trusts. Investors also should consult a tax professional regarding the tax implications associated with investing in UITs. There is no assurance that the strategies discussed will be successful in the future.
