Advertising Health names The CementBloc the world's #3 healthcare agency
CANNES, France, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The healthcare advertising news website Advertising Health named The CementBloc the #3 healthcare agency in its first-ever "World Top 10" list, based on wins in major industry award shows.
In celebration of the first-ever Lions Health awards ceremony in Cannes this week, Advertising Health aggregated wins in 2013 from CLIO Healthcare, IPA Best of Health, The Globals, Med Ad News (Manny), MM&M, PM Society, and Rx Club. Points were awarded for each win based on the Lions Health Agency of the Year scoring system: 10 for best in show, 7 for gold, 5 for silver, and 3 for bronze.
With 111 points, The Bloc came in third, and first among US agencies, topped only by Langland in the UK and the McCann network. The Bloc also finished ahead of many much larger networks including Ogilvy, Digitas, GSW, and Saatchi & Saatchi.
Results were also tallied for the most award-winning campaigns, and The Bloc had 3 in the top 10, more than any other agency:
- Giazo: "Mr. Butt," an integrated campaign for the ulcerative colitis (UC) treatment Giazo®, embraced the male patient as a unique problem for Giazo. Combining arresting images with hard-hitting headlines that defined the patient type, the campaign introduced a new therapy and new way to think about men with UC
- Girls Right of Way (GROW): The Bloc created a multimedia campaign on behalf of this nonprofit grassroots organization that helps at-risk girls realize their full potential. An umbrella identity brought together GROW's various programs, which include shoe donation, HIV prevention, peer-counseling workshops, reading centers, and a youth orchestra
- Happy Fuel: A social network created in-house that promotes the heavily researched connection between happiness and healthiness. Happy Fuel lets users upload and share the photos, songs, places, sounds, and thoughts that make them happy, and gauge their own happiness in the process
"I'm thrilled that our #3 standing is for work across a variety of clients and stakeholders—consumer, HCP, print and digital, branded, and unbranded. It speaks to the depth of talent here at The Bloc, in all departments," said Elizabeth Elfenbein, Partner, Creative. "I'm equally thrilled that this occurred in conjunction with the inaugural Lions Health awards in Cannes, which I attended as a juror."
Added fellow Partner, Creative Stephanie Berman, "This recognition is wonderful not only in terms of industry recognition, but also because it helps us attract—and retain— clients who appreciate great work and talent who are capable of creating it."
Said Jennifer Matthews, Managing Partner at The Bloc, "This is a terrific achievement for The Bloc, and a testament to our people, our client partners, and our collective commitment to excellence. We intend to hold onto that #3 spot and set our sights even higher."
