With more than 18 years of experience in the digital and analytics space, Baddley comes to Knotice after serving as the VP of business intelligence for American Greetings. In his new role, he will be responsible for helping Knotice's customers and partners do more with their data, deriving actionable insights to better connect with and understand their customers.
When Baddley recently reconnected over coffee with Knotice CEO and President Brian Deagan, the two discussed how the Knotice solution had evolved. He saw the latest release, Knotice 5, and was impressed. "I was literally sitting on the edge of my chair," said Baddley.
"Knotice really solved the data component," says Baddley. "Knotice 5 structures the data to where a good analytics team and a good marketing team can easily take action. So, I'm really excited about the opportunities – this puts a lot of marketing and analytics folks in a position to be the best."
Baddley will be sharing his expertise with Knotice partners and clients, helping them with actionable insights and strategic opportunities. Baddley is most enthusiastic about using data to better serve consumers.
"What I love to do is to understand what a customer wants and needs through the observation of data," Baddley said. "Then, how do I, as an analyst, help an organization solve that apparent need in the most effective way, while being relevant to the consumer."
For those interested in moving forward with data management, Baddley offers this advice:
- "When using your data, companies first need to understand what they're solving for. This starts at the customer level. Your outcomes have to be success metrics for a customer. This might include a purchase, getting a subscription, retention, and so on.
- "Once you understand what you're solving for, go back and look at your business. Identify the interactions between brand and customer.
- "Focusing your analytics efforts on the elements that represent those points of interaction allows you to understand the 'whys' behind customer behaviors.
- "It's all about using your data to be more efficient and profitable, serving the customer better."
The announcement of Baddley joining Knotice comes on the heels of the company being recognized as a strong performer in "The Forrester Wave™: Data Management Platforms, Q3 2013," which includes details on the most recent release of the company's DMP, Knotice 5.
