Adecco Group North America To Launch "CEO For One Month" Intern Boot Camp
Finalists from Across North America to Compete for the Internship of a Lifetime
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Adecco Group North America, part of the world's leading provider of human resource solutions, will culminate a search for its 2016 "CEO for One Month" intern with a three-day leadership boot camp, Monday, May 23 – Wednesday, May 25, in Jacksonville, Florida. During the boot camp, six finalists will vie for the coveted "CEO for One Month" title through a series of challenges, and one will be chosen for a paid ($10,000) month-long summer internship and the opportunity to work alongside Bob Crouch, CEO of Adecco Group North America.
"This program is about supporting young people in their professional ambitions and providing the next generation of workers with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the workforce," said Crouch. "We know all about the world of work, and it's important to us that we share that know-how."
Finalists were selected from a competitive pool of more than 4,000 applicants across North America, a significant 95 percent increase in entrees from 2015. Applicants were judged on academic merit, leadership development, work experience and video submissions in which candidates discussed which of Adecco's core values and leadership principles they most closely identified with and why they should be selected as "CEO for One Month."
After three days full of competitive team-building exercises, education sessions and out-of-the-box assessments with a focus on Adecco Group's core values and leadership principles, one winner will be selected. Upon selection, the successful candidate will shadow Crouch and other members of the Adecco leadership team for a month, traveling to client meetings across the country, participating in business assignments, gaining valuable professional skills and learning how a Global Fortune 500 company is run. In addition, the winner will have the opportunity to become Adecco's Global "CEO for One Month," where the candidate would shadow the company's global CEO, Alain Dehaze, in Zurich, Switzerland.
Adecco's "CEO for One Month" initiative is part of Adecco Group's global Way To Work™ program, which highlights issues and challenges facing the more than 70 million young people worldwide that are out of work, while developing ways that this generation can be prepared for the workforce of the future.
"Internships serve as a valuable and critical tool for young professionals seeking meaningful experiences and networking opportunities," said Crouch. "In fact, a recent Adecco Way To Work™ survey found that 74 percent of respondents feel as though their colleges and universities are not fully preparing them for a post-grad career, citing applicable 'real life' business skills as a reason why."
"This program is just one of the many ways we're helping this generation take the next step," added Crouch. "We look forward to meeting our finalists in-person and working closely with our 'new CEO' this summer."
The finalists competing in the "CEO for One Month" challenge include:
- Ageliki (Angel) Key (Miami, Fla.)
- Amanda Zakoske (Orlando, Fla.)
- Carl Saenger (Greenleaf, Wis.)
