Adecco Group North America Selects Its 2016 "CEO For One Month"
Finalists From Across North America Vied for the Internship of a Lifetime
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Adecco Group North America, part of the world's leading provider of human resource solutions, has named its 'new CEO' for the next month. Courtney Berger was picked from a group of finalists who participated in a series of challenges during a leadership boot camp from Monday, May 23-Wednesday, May 25, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Berger is a 24-year-old Nova Southeastern University graduate, with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in forensic science. After completing her undergraduate studies in 2014, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to shift direction and explore marketing and business strategy. Berger currently resides in her hometown, Sarasota, Florida, and recently founded a startup business, called Presence Media Consulting, a company specializing in social media marketing and follower engagement.
Berger was one of the six finalists selected from a competitive pool of more than 4,000 applicants across North America. Applicants were judged on academic merit, leadership development, work experience and video submissions in which candidates discussed which of Adecco's core values and leadership principles they most closely identified with and why they should be selected as "CEO for One Month."
"To me, this is further proof that young people can do anything they put their minds to," said Berger. "I can't wait to walk in the shoes of a CEO, and I encourage my peers to be proactive in seeking out opportunities, like "CEO for One Month," that empower them to dream big."
Throughout the next four weeks, Berger will shadow Adecco Group North America CEO Bob Crouch and other members of the Adecco leadership team. During this time, she will travel to client meetings across the country, participate in business assignments, gain professional skills and learn firsthand how a Global Fortune 500 company is run.
"We know that internships are one of the best ways for young people to get professional experience under their belt," said Crouch. "It's important to us that we offer resources and opportunities that allow them to cultivate the soft and hard skills needed upon entering the world of work."
Adecco's "CEO for One Month" initiative is part of Adecco Group's global Way To Work ™ program, which highlights issues and challenges facing the more than 70 million young people worldwide that are out of work, while developing ways that this generation can be prepared for the workforce of the future.
