"We are extremely excited to partner with Adam for a second year," says Surinder Singh, Managing Director-Barclaycard US. "This promotion gives us a great opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation of the game and the fans."
During Super Bowl week, NFL Extra Points street teams will roam the downtown New Orleans area, handing out NFL Extra Points masks to fans 18 and older and awarding NFL prizes to those spotted wearing one. Fans will be encouraged to wear NFL Extra Points masks throughout New Orleans during the week. Those identified by an NFL Extra Points street team member as wearing an official NFL Extra Points mask will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl XLVII or other prizes.
On Thursday, January 31, Adam Vinatieri will 'kick off' the NFL Extra Points Challenge at the NFL Experience Driven by GMC inside the New Orleans Convention Center. Vinatieri will lace up his cleats for the last time this season and attempt to award one million NFL Extra Points (in the form of a $10,000 cash donation) to the Brees Dream Foundation-- a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients. During the challenge, Vinatieri will attempt to kick NFL footballs from 25-yards and hit designated targets positioned inside a regulation NFL goalpost. A total of 1,000,000 NFL Extra Points will be awarded to the Brees Dream Foundation if Vinatieri hits all three of the targets.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge," said Vinatieri. "I've always prided myself on accuracy and handling the pressure of big kicks. This takes it to a new level and allows me to help a great cause in the process." Vinatieri will also join the NFL Extra Points Street team in New Orleans on Thursday, January 31, to personally award a pair of Super Bowl XLVII tickets to a lucky fan wearing an NFL Extra Points mask.
"As an NFL Extra Points cardholder myself, I'm very excited to be a part of this program again this year – providing opportunities to attend Super Bowl XLVII – and helping support the Brees Dream Foundation," Vinatieri said.
This year, the NFL Extra Points Credit Card will offer a unique photo booth attraction at the NFL Experience.
