CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital publishers — and websites that rely on revenue from display advertising — can expect to see record earnings this year on Black Friday, according to publishing technology platform, Ezoic. This news comes on the heels of a record-breaking year for programmatic ad rates that Ezoic has been monitoring on their public Ad Revenue Index.
Industry experts forecasted increased spending in digital media as marketing budgets for things like print and television advertising were moved to large digital platforms and new mediums. This has translated to much higher digital ad rates being paid out across digital sources to publishers displaying or leveraging programmatic ads. These rates are expected to peak on Black Friday, a day renowned for consumer shopping.

The Ad Revenue index indeed shows a historical trend of record-breaking increases in publisher ad rates around Black Friday as advertisers and marketers pour their budgets into digital platforms hoping to capitalize on the increased seasonal consumer spending.
