AbleTo Empowers People to Self-Assess Their Mental Health by Introducing Digital Tools Linked to Clinical Experts
NEW YORK, April 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AbleTo, Inc., the leading technology-enabled provider of behavioral health treatment proven to improve patient outcomes, increase access, and lower healthcare costs, announced today new digital capabilities to scale care to consumers. AbleTo launched the AbleTo Digital Screener, a three-minute evidence-based, clinical self-assessment that identifies depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Consumers who take the assessment on AbleTo.com have the option to learn more about AbleTo's program to see if it is right for them. Consumers can choose to enroll in of one AbleTo's highly-personalized programs that treat depression, anxiety, and stress related to co-morbid chronic medical conditions or sudden life-events.
AbleTo CEO, Rob Rebak, said, "One in five U.S. adults struggle with their emotional or mental health each year. AbleTo has made great strides in addressing the mental health of individuals, but these new digital tools will enable reach to millions of Americans. We have heavily invested in technology upgrades and personnel to scale our business over the past year."
"As AbleTo continues to scale our solutions to more people, we are committed to maintaining our outstanding clinical quality and patient satisfaction-rate," Mr. Rebak added. "Whether someone is hearing about AbleTo for the first time, or a patient is already engaged with us, we ensure that their experience is personalized throughout their patient journey with us."
Clinical Expertise Differentiates Assessment from Other Questionnaires
The AbleTo Screener is a 22-question, clinically-validated tool that takes approximately three-minutes to complete. This assessment identifies signs of the most common mental health conditions and factors that can lead to dangerous levels of stress. The assessment covers depression and anxiety; life transitions; trauma; insomnia; substance abuse; and social determinants of health.
Once consumers complete the screener, they have the option of speaking with a representative to discuss enrollment in one of AbleTo's outcomes-based, remote-CBT programs or learning more about programs and resources available for them.
AbleTo Chief Clinical Officer, Aimee Peters, said; "The AbleTo Screener is a tool for people to understand and control their mental health and wellbeing. It will allow someone to get a high-level read on areas of concern, as well as inform our therapists where to assess further during the initial consultation. And unlike most online questionnaires, people can get care on the other side of the results. We don't leave you with an empty "score" and a resource kit – we want to pair you with an expert who can help."
"I have been with AbleTo since the early days, and it's been amazing to see our growth and transformation," Ms. Peters added. "The combination of predictive analytics, data from digital tools, and multi-channel personalized approach allows us to engage those most in need, and provide access to high-quality, evidence-based care. Our goal continues to be to help patients get better, faster."
AbleTo Vice President of Product, Jason Goodhand, said, "We speak to many patients and know that one in five have a need, yet nearly half of those don't get the care they need due to stigma, lack of awareness, or being unsure of where to turn for trusted information. We built a tool to help educate those in need, and help them find the right next steps. The AbleTo Platform's APIs and responsive user interface allow the consistent delivery of this powerful assessment tool across multiple digital channels such as web and mobile."
