WASHINGTON, April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The search to find the next 50+ musical phenomenon as part of this year's AARP Superstar Contest is down to final five!
Today, the five remaining hopefuls were announced on www.aarp.org/superstar2015 and include Valerie Geason, 50, Lake Elsinore, CA; Janet Hines-Norris, 53, Mishawaka, IN; Billy Spence, 51, Hedgesville, WV; May Palmer, 51, Lynnwood, WA and Rudy Torrellas, 85, Guaynabo, PR.
The AARP Superstar 2015 Contest will conclude with a final singing competition in front of a live audience and celebrity panel of judges at AARP's 2015 Life@50+ National Event & Expo in Miami, FL, on May 15th. Hosted by actor and comedian Arsenio Hall, the star-studded lineup of judges include GRAMMY® Award-winning musicians Chaka Khan and Kenny Loggins, 19-time GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and producer Emilio Estefan, and founder and CEO of DMI Music & Media Solutions, Tena Clark. Judges Chaka Khan and Kenny Loggins will also perform live for the crowd.
The five finalists will vie for a $5,000 grand prize along with a trip to Pasadena, CA, where they will experience a professional recording session at DMI Music & Media Solutions headquarters. They will also be provided with airfare to Miami, hotel for two nights and a $500 gift card as part of the package for advancing to the finals.
