A New World Order: Formula for Global Peace
Experienced Author and Engineer Shares Political Insight and International Solutions to Global Unrest
HOUSTON, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In his new treatise promoting freedom, democracy, human rights and global peace "Human Rights and a New World Order: An Engineering Solution" (published by iUniverse), debut author Mehdi Alavi appeals to intellectuals from all walks of life and provides a unique vision of a new world order as well as a tangible solution to increasingly serious international problems.
Human rights, world peace, an end to discrimination, murder, torture and other atrocities are seemingly an elusive pursuit. Despite noble efforts, the United Nations, Amnesty International, World Watch and other organizations have made little progress in the resolution of this worldwide disgrace; however, Alavi now proposes a formula that could be implemented to significantly impact human rights and world peace.
Reforming the United Nations has been widely advocated by many distinguished individuals. "In the years to come," said Zbigniew Brezezinski in World Monitor, "the UN will have to be gradually reformed in order to make its structure more consistent with global power realities." Alavi proposes a sensible new world order that promotes education, freedom, human rights, population policy and peaceful global participation based on a majority rule with respect for minority rights in a system where leadership is shared by all free nations. With the development of a democracy score (which represents the legal freedom that a nation provides its citizens), a liberty score (which represents the democracy score corrected for the human rights violations) and a civility score (which is a penalty on the liberty score when a nation contributes to tension), Alavi provides a practical method of participating in the United Nations.
Never before in history has our world changed so rapidly. No longer do the rich and strong control leadership or have a power monopoly. In fact, utilizing Alavi's principles of harmony and cooperation outlined in his thought-provoking, fascinating and controversial book "Human Rights and a New World Order," the United States and its citizens can finally bring about change for the better.
