72andSunny Wins thinkLA's AdJam: Battle Of The Agency Bands
Nine ad agency bands rocked it out at Club Nokia to the best songs from movie soundtracks
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At thinkLA's annual AdJam: Battle of the Agency Bands presented by GlobalWide Media on Thursday, September 17th, nine advertising agencies competed for the AdJam Axe, performing their favorite songs from movie soundtracks. While everyone rocked it out and gave their best performances, it was creative agency 72andSunny's HR & the Violations that won the judges and crowd over. Phelps' Ruckus took second place, and newcomers to the competition, ZehnerGroup's Margot & The Baumers, took home third place.
In order to perform at AdJam, agencies had to submit music videos. Nine were then selected as finalists to perform at Club Nokia. Here are their submission videos:
72andSunny – HR & the Violations (2015 winners)
Acento Advertising – Don Ramones
Garage Team Mazda – The Garage Band
Initiative – Blue Foot Band
Phelps - Ruckus
Red Tettemer O'Connell and Partners – JunkShot
Saatchi & Saatchi LA – The Rough Cuts
Team One – T-UN1T
ZehnerGroup - Margot & The Baumers
The energy was high at AdJam with over 1,600 people in attendance. The judges -- Nathan Gregory, VP of Brand Partnerships at CAA, Dave Rocco, Head of Music Production at Deutsch LA, Stephen Blackwell, CEO of Spin Media -- were not easy to please. However, HR & the Violations won them over singing all songs from the movie 50 Shades of Grey, including The Rolling Stones' Beast of Burden, Beyonce's Crazy in Love, The Weekend's Earned It, and Annie Lennox's I Put A Spell on You. Following the winner announcement was an after party with DJ Joe Kim.
