50,000 Businesses Now Use FedConnect® to Compete for Government Contracts
Shared service opportunity portal extends FedBizOpps and promotes paperless contracting
DULLES, Va., Feb. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Compusearch® announced today that the number of businesses using FedConnect® to identify, compete for, and win government contracts has grown to more than 50,000.
FedConnect® (www.fedconnect.net) is a publically accessible web portal where government agencies post business opportunities and communicate with vendors throughout the contract lifecycle. Designed to complement and extend the capabilities of FedBizOpps, FedConnect® is centrally-hosted and operated in the cloud by Compusearch and is offered to government agencies on a subscription basis. There is no cost to vendors to register and use FedConnect®.
"Connecting federal acquisition professionals to over 50,000 businesses in the secure, auditable FedConnect® portal demonstrates the power of using a hosted, cloud computing environment to drive efficiency in federal contracting," said Compusearch CEO, Reid Jackson. "There is immense network value to government agencies from electronic integration with this many FedConnect® users."
Government agencies benefit from FedConnect®'s secure, auditable, bi-directional collaboration capabilities and use it to communicate with vendors throughout the acquisition lifecycle from market research and solicitations through contract management and close-out. Through FedConnect® suppliers submit proposals, into electronic contract folders in the agency's acquisition management system for accelerated review and scoring. When the award decisions are made, agencies deliver those awards and manage the post-award activity with suppliers through FedConnect®. Hence FedConnect® promotes paperless contracting, a goal of all procurement organizations.
The rapid rise in the number of businesses using FedConnect® directly corresponds to the growth in postings by subscribing agencies. FedConnect® is now used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Social Security Administration. Additional agencies will be coming on to FedConnect® later this year.
