50 Flipped Classroom International Ambassadors Announced
Flipped Learning Global Initiative introduces 50 Flipped Learning International Ambassadors from around the world
CHICAGO, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Today, the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI), a worldwide coalition of educators, researchers, technologists, professional development providers and education leaders announced the launch of the Flipped Learning International Ambassador Program.
The International Ambassador program is a network of distinguished and passionate flipped learning educators supporting the successful adoption of flipped learning worldwide.
Flipped Learning International Ambassadors represent the FLGI in their respective communities and represent their communities to the Flipped Learning Global Initiative. FLGI International Ambassadors serve as advisors to the global initiative and help identify challenges and opportunities. Ambassadors will also help identify, refine and spread the word about new projects and programs launched by FLGI.
The global energy, momentum, passion and activity around flipped learning remain largely unrecognized. Flipped learning ambassadors will play an essential role in raising awareness of the innovating work being done across the worldwide flipped learning community.
One of the most important roles of Flipped Learning International Ambassadors is serving as beta testers for new flipped learning technologies. Identifying and validating best-in-class technologies for flipped learning is one of the core pillars of FLGI.
The diverse reasons cited by Flipped Learning International Ambassadors for joining FLGI underscore the depth and breadth of the Flipped Learning Movement:
"Because of flipped learning, I have had the opportunity to see my students show amazing growth in both reading level and desire to read. It would be both an amazing opportunity and a privilege to share flipped learning programs, projects, and technology on a global scale." - Matt Bowers, 2016 Read 180 teacher of the year - USA
"I see flipped classroom as a great way for kids to be more active in learning, for teachers to start using digital thinking in education, and to use digital tools with a purpose. I like being a part of an international forum to share ideas and thoughts about the flipped classroom." - Karin Braneback, 20 year teacher - Sweden.
"I think flipped learning can create a paradigm shift in learning. I'd like to contribute (to) it." - Masato Tahara, manager flipped learning study group for teachers – Japan
"The flipped classroom community is young and vibrant and is gaining such traction that I want to be involved as an ambassador for this work, sharing my insights and the results of the research I am working on." - Kurt Challinor, Director of the Centre for Deeper Learning - Australia
"It has been my role for several years to spread out the spirit inside the flipped learning for the teachers in Korea." - Chanpil Jung, Co-founder of Future Class Network, Korea and Director of the documentary series focusing of education innovation - Korea
"I firmly believe that the mastery flip model of instruction is superior. I have seen the benefits in my classroom and have learned so much in my 4 years teaching this way. I have inspired my entire 6th grade team to flip their classrooms and several other teachers in my building and I am excited at the possibility to help people outside my school, and even my country." - Lisa McCauley, Flipped mastery teacher - USA
"I am interested in sharing the resources of a library to the school as a flipped collaborative teaching model. The flipped learning can take place internally and externally, depending on the student grade. This model allows specialist teachers, such as the teacher librarian, to collaborate with class teachers and show how many existing physical and digital resources can be harnessed for flipped learning." - Monica Morscheck, Librarian – Hong Kong
"I really want to help expand the Flipped Learning in my country." - Wilson Azevedo, Teacher Professional Developer - Brazil
"I can see how the Flipped learning teaching method has changed the lives of many of our students and for me as a teacher there is no turning back to traditional teaching methods. I would be honored if I can help others in any way." - Sigrún Svafa Ólafsdóttir, Adult education - Iceland
"I believe that just as quickly as the notion of flipped learning is spreading, so too are the misconceptions surrounding it. I have met many #flipclass teachers on Twitter and other social networks or conferences who have been so giving with their time that I want to do whatever I can to pay it forward." - Beth Oing, high school teacher – USA
"Flipped learning completely transformed my mindset of what teaching and learning can be. Through my journey of flipping my own class, I have been able to share with others through blogging, speaking, and books. I want to continue to inspire others and encourage the continued spread of flipped learning around the globe." - Crystal Kerch, digital learning coach and author of two books on Flipped Learning - USA
