4th Annual Los Angeles Wine Celebration Brings Together Music Industry and Wine Collectors
Fundraiser Will Take Place October 14th at Beverly Hills Hotel
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The T.J. Martell Foundation, the music industry's largest foundation that locally supports pediatric cancer research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, is presenting the 4th Annual Los Angeles Wine Celebration Dinner & Auction on Friday, October 14th at the prestigious Beverly Hills Hotel. The evening will begin at 6:30pm with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by a gourmet, four-course dinner, elaborate wine tasting and a live auction featuring wine trips on United Airlines, unique music and cooking experiences and wine packages.
"The event brings together wine collectors primarily from the music industry who contribute world class wines to share at their tables," said event Chairman Warren Christensen, SVP of Promotion at Q Prime Management. "Some of the wines that have been poured in the past include Sine Qua Non, Gaja, Shafer Hillside Select, and Colgin to name a few. It is the idea of people coming together to enjoy incredible food, wine, have a great time and raise vital funds for cancer research."
The Los Angeles Wine Celebration has raised more than $325,000 for the T.J. Martell Foundation. The Foundation has been a supporter of Children's Hospital Los Angeles for twenty-five years and has funded more than $27 million for research. In fact, the new CHLA hospital recently opened and features the T.J. Martell Foundation's name on the side of the building. "The Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has made tremendous strides in our pediatric cancer research program thanks to the T.J. Martell Foundation's generosity and longtime partnership over the years," said Dr. Robert Seeger, Director of the Cancer Research Program at CHLA. "Just this year, as a result of the 'seed' funding provided by the T.J. Martell Foundation, the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases has received new research grants totaling $4.4 million from the National Cancer Institute for studies in the fields of childhood neuroblastoma and brain tumors. The T.J. Martell Foundation's support of Children's Hospital's research program has contributed to saving thousands of children and adolescents through bench to bedside discoveries. We could not have made this progress without the wonderful support of the T.J. Martell Foundation."
Tickets to the Los Angeles Wine Celebration Dinner & Auction are $325 individually or $3,000 for a table of ten and may be purchased by calling the T.J. Martell Foundation's office at (310) 449-7627 or by logging onto www.TJMartellFoundation.org.
