12th Edition of Art Basel in Miami Beach Menus Combine Florida-Inspired Haute Cuisine with Sustainability
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the leading event hospitality partner to North America's top entertainment venues and convention centers, is again working with Art Basel on the 12th edition of the Miami Beach show, providing extraordinary menus and hospitality for guests at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The show opens to the public on December 5.
Art Basel in Miami Beach is the favorite winter meeting place for the international art world, drawing more than 50,000 visitors each year. At the nexus of North America and Latin America, this Art Basel show presents premier artwork from across the globe. More than 250 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa will take part, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Centerplate has enlisted its best culinary talent to create offerings that reflect the spirit of the event, as well as the flavors and flair of Miami Beach. Menus are carefully crafted with sustainability in mind, focusing on farm-to-table ingredients including fresh, healthy, and tasty products sourced from Florida and the surrounding communities. The Greenware used in service has one of the lowest carbon footprints for disposable products.

More than 25 culinary and 300 service professionals will join Centerplate's core Miami Beach team to facilitate the delivery of Art Basel's world-class hospitality. Centerplate expects to serve more than 75,000 meals to the exhibition's 50,000 guests, with services ranging from catering VIP events to managing a number of upscale restaurants over the course of the five-day event.
