ZUK Officially Launches the International Version of Its Acclaimed Z1 in Partnership with Cyanogen
SHENZHEN, China, Aug. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ZUK, a brand new innovative Internet company backed by Lenovo, officially launched the international version of its acclaimed smart phone Z1, and unveiled their software partnership with Cyanogen Inc, a leading mobile OS company. ZUK and Cyanogen are partnering closely to bring the best customized Android experience to international users, and the ZUK Z1 international version will be the first device from ZUK to come preloaded with the commercial Cyanogen OS. Mr. Chang Cheng, CEO of ZUK and Mr. Vikram Natarajan, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships and Distribution for Cyanogen presented at today's press conference.
Earlier this month, ZUK announced the Chinese Version of Z1 in Beijing, and it has quickly become a hit in the China market. The Z1 received over 2 million pre-orders within one week, and 40,000 handsets sold out immediately after the 1st wave purchase kicked off on Aug 18. Today, ZUK announced that the international version of the Z1 is expected to go on sale in Europe, America, the Southeast Asia and the Middle East from this September, price will start from $299.
The ZUK Z1 international version has almost the same top hardware configurations as the Chinese version. Z1 is the world's first smart phone featuring a reversible Type-C charging port with USB 3.0 level data transfer speeds. Besides, the other configurations of Z1 are also ranked top standard on the market: 5.5-inch 1080P FHD display, a fingerprint sensor, a massive 4100mAh battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset will come in white or space gray.
The ZUK Z1 international version will come preloaded with Cyanogen OS 12.1, a powerfully fast operating system customized for Z1 with a number of advanced features that are optimized for performance, power consumption, security and privacy.
ZUK CEO Chang Cheng expressed the planning of the international market development and his expectations, he said: "We've had a great start in China market, and we wish we can achieve success in overseas markets too. Z1 is the fruit of painstaking efforts, costing 10 months work of around 500 top talents. We believe a great product sells itself."
