Having served as the dean of two of the top Business Schools - INSEAD and Kellogg School of Management, Dr. Dipak Jain brings extensive international experience as an educator and business school administrator. Serving as an independent director on the board of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited, Deere & Company, Northern Trust Corporation, and others, his strategic role in shaping businesses is substantial.
He would be speaking on "The Enduring Value of Management Education" and interacting with our students.

Speaker's Bio:
Dr. Dipak C. Jain is the Director (Dean) of Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He has served as Dean of INSEAD during 2011-2013. He was the dean of the Kellogg School of Management; Northwestern University from 2001-2009. He is Sandy and Morton Goldman Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies & Professor of Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management.
Dr. Jain serves as an independent director on the board of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited. He has served as a consultant to Microsoft, Novartis, American Express, Sony, Nissan, Eli Lilly and Company, and Hyatt International. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Deere & Company and Northern Trust Corporation. He is a former director at United Airlines, Hartmarx Corporation and Peoples Energy.
Dr. Jain's areas of research include the marketing of high-tech products; market segmentation and competitive market structure analysis; cross-cultural issues in global product diffusion; new product diffusion; and forecasting models.
Born on June 9, 1957, in a small town called Tezpur, Assam, Dr. Jain did his schooling from Rastrabhasa Hindi School at Tezpur, Assam and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Statistics (Hons.) in 1976 from Darrang College, Tezpur and master's degree in statistics in 1978 from Guwahati University in India.
He taught at Guwahati University for the next five years before going to the US to pursue his PhD in Marketing at the University of Texas at Dallas under the direction of the very well known Dr. Frank M. Bass, often called the "Father of Marketing Science," and creator of the "Bass Model."
Dr. Jain has won several awards including the Sidney Levy Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1995; The John D.C. Little Best Paper Award in 1991; Kraft research professorships in 1989-90 and 1990-91; and The Beatrice research professorship in 1987-88.
