Vocera Opens Bangalore Innovation Center to Accelerate Product Development

SAN JOSE, California, April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vocera Communications, Inc. (NYSE: VCRA), the leading provider of integrated, intelligent communication solutions for mission-critical mobile environments, today announced the opening of a new innovation center in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The Company has also named Mr. Srivibhavan Balaram as managing director and general manager of the new facility. Balaram previously worked for various technology companies, including HP Labs and Business Objects (an SAP company), and served as founder and chief executive officer of storage provider CloudByte. In his new role, Mr. Balaram will be responsible for driving the growth of Vocera's India operations, including the acquisition of top engineering talent in the area.

Recognizing that healthcare and other mission-critical organizations around the world face common communication challenges, Vocera is increasing its international presence and investing in a new innovation center. The Bangalore location will work in collaboration with Vocera's San Jose, Calif.; Knoxville, Tenn. and Toronto, Ontario development teams to expand the Company's communication solutions, including the core Vocera software platform, wearable devices, mobile applications, analytics and cloud-based technologies.
