Sunday Saddle - A 25 km and 40 km ride organised by UF and Decathlon, brought together cyclists cutting across age and backgrounds. The ride took cyclists through Bangalore's scenic countryside on a bright morning, being a refreshing reminder of the beautiful city and of how fitness and sports not only unite people from diverse backgrounds but also contribute to a fitter and vibrant Bangalore.
UF Academy & Studios introduced 'The Run' in 2015 towards urban community activation. What started as an intra-community event with less than 100 participants, developed into an inter-community event in 2016. Fast forward 2017, The Run is gradually evolving into a city-wide event in Bangalore.
'The Run' is in support of women who are the driving force behind every family's fitness and wellbeing. Tasalli, which practically means to comfort, as an organisation has a vision that every family should provide safety, opportunity, and equality for each of its member. Tasalli stands against abuse and exploitation - particularly of women and children. Tasalli empowers former victims through education, equipping, and rehabilitation.
Ravish Dhamija, Founder and Managing Partner at UF, said, "Fitness and sports need to be a part of our culture and lifestyle. Group fitness and sports events with personalized goals have the potential to bring about sustained lifestyle changes for everyone."
Ravi Mondreti, a veteran marathoner and The Chief Run Officer at UF said, "Our mission is to bring communities together and provide a superlative running experience through hearts and soles, creating lasting social impact."
The Run is a 5,000+ participation event, to be held on 10th September, 2017 at Meco Kartopia (Bangalore), an international racing and recreational karting track.
