The 8th Renewable Energy India 2014, which was held at the same venue in September 2014, broke fresh ground vis-à-vis Government participation and even a 'Start-up' pavilion, encouraging the budding entrepreneur with a limited budget to build on his renewable business portfolio. One of the many reports released during the event illustrated the sector's growth as one of the largest employers in future, with just the solar energy space generating close to 7 lakh jobs in the next 10 years. Sixteen companies which made up the Canadian delegation, backed by the Canadian Trade Consul, was also a major draw exploring partnership opportunities in the country. The event attracted over 15,000 visitors along with 464 exhibitors, 126 speakers and 954 conference delegates spread over an area of 25,000 sq. metres, with nine dedicated country pavilions and multiple workshops.
The 9th edition of the event would showcase an even larger gathering attracting participation from both the domestic and international players in the space, reaffirming its position once again as Asia's most significant and influential B2B event on the international renewable energy calendar. With policy think-tanks making it a mandatory stop-over and exhibitors showcasing their state-of-the-art technology, there would be renewed interest from international buyers and technology demonstrators in bringing business to India.
A UBM India flagship event, REI is backed and supported by policy influencers and major associations who are working towards accelerated growth of the industry. Mr. Joji George, Managing Director, UBM India says, "The REI platform created eight years ago has grown to become an annual calendar event in the renewable energy industry. With the new government supporting renewable energy, it will encourage more players in India to upgrade their technologies and come at par with the global competition. Also, many foreign companies would venture into the Indian market because of the prospects of the renewable energy industry in the country. Over the past 8 years we have seen high potential players in the renewable energy industry who have brought more recognition and value addition to this event. It will be our most diligent efforts to make the 9th edition of Renewable Energy India Expo in 2015 as bigger and better to encourage sustainable economic development."
In its 9th edition, the expo aims to further upscale and mainstream the applications of renewable energy resources, showcase innovations and enrich the deliberation through international exhibition and conference platform.
