So far, Mr. A. S. Lakshminarayan and his team have already mixed the successful 2014 thriller Jilla (R. T. Neason), Aarambham directed by Vishnuvardhan, Vizhi Moodi Yosithaal directed by KG Senthil Kumar and the much-anticipated historical drama Ramanujan, directed by Gnana Rajasekaran, in Auro-3D®. Additional Tamil movies will be mixed in the format over the upcoming months, making them ready for screening in theaters equipped with the Auro 11.1 by Barco sound system.
Immersing India
India has the largest and one of the most progressive film industries in the world. This makes for a very competitive market, where movie makers and theaters are constantly looking to differentiate themselves from the flock. New technologies, stimulating both the creativity of filmmakers and the senses of individual moviegoers, play an important part in this.
With the Auro-3D® Studio System on board, including the Creative Tool Suite, Trinity Studios is joining an ever-increasing club of high-end Indian studios looking to create the industry's most immersive and natural auditory movie experience possible, thanks to the unique 3-layered Auro 11.1 system. The ability of the format to 'move' sounds in a three-dimensional space gives the images on the screen an unparalleled realistic dimension, drawing the audience into the story until the end credits start to roll. As such, the Auro-3D® Studio System is exactly what moviemakers need to pursue their creative vision to the fullest.
In capable hands
A. S. Lakshminarayan, renowned sound engineer at Trinity Studios, is one of India's most critically acclaimed sound engineers, mixers and sound editors. In 2002, A S Lakshminarayan won the National Film Award - the most prestigious award in India - for his work on director Mani Ratnam's feature film Kannathil Muthamittal. With such a big reputation to uphold, the new Auro-3D® Studio System is an invaluable asset.
"The aim of this new format is to perfect cinema sound," says Abel Garamhegyi, managing director at Barco India. "In a modern theater, people are stimulated by both sound and pictures, creating a total experience. Auro 11.1 by Barco enables full auditory immersion, which is why more and more studios and cinemas are convinced that this is a 'sound' investment. And the figures don't lie either: Ticket sales for halls equipped with the Auro 11.1 speaker system are much higher than with the standard 5.1. In short, it is a very powerful tool in the ongoing battle for the viewer, whether that is with other theaters, movie-makers or home cinema sets."
Mr. J Prakash, owner of Trinity Studios, was immediately convinced of Auro's value: "We met Mr. Wilfried Van Baelen, CEO of Auro Technologies, in 2013. After witnessing Auro perform in our studio, we were immediately convinced of the format's superiority. So far, we have already mixed two blockbuster films in Tamil, Jilla and Aarambam. Since December 2013, two more movies have been mixed and prepared for release."
