Over the next few years Tekno Point and CompTIA will undertake various initiatives to make training in CompTIA CTT+ accessible throughout India. Tekno Point aims to help 500-plus trainers get certified in CompTIA CTT+ over the next three years. It has already conducted two batches of training in the last few months.
The demand for trainers in India is growing. According to CompTIA's 2013 International Technology Adoption & Workforce Issues study, 97 percent of Indian businesses engaged in some type of IT training over the past year.
Job aspirants who wish to be recognized as technical trainers in organizations like Adobe, Dell, Philips, Checkpoint and Microsoft have to be CTT+ certified. Previously, trainers had to travel to either the U.S. or Europe to pursue this credential. Alternatively, corporates were required to fly-in a trainer. The time and cost involved made it difficult for trainers to pursue it seriously.
"As part of the process involved in becoming an Adobe Certified Instructor, I had to go to the U.S. in 2009 to pursue my CompTIA CTT+ certification. This is when we realized the urgent need for making such an important offering available to trainers in India. It ensures career growth and gives a framework to subject matter experts to deliver effective training." said Himanshu Mody, Founder & CEO, Tekno Point.
"We're pleased to team with Tekno Point to prepare a new generation of training professionals," said Pradipto Chakrabarty, Director, India Region for CompTIA. "Individuals who attain CompTIA CTT+ will have earned a widely recognized and respected credential that identifies them as an excellent and dedicated industry instructor."
CompTIA CTT+ certification validate a range of skills, including preparation, presentation, communication, facilitation and evaluation in both, a classroom and virtual classroom environment.
Two exams are necessary to be certified: CompTIA CTT+ Essentials, and at least one of the two designations: Classroom Trainer or Virtual Classroom Trainer. The exam covers planning prior to the course, methods and media for instructional delivery, instructor credibility and communications, group facilitation and evaluating the training event.
The Tekno Point course includes classroom instruction as well as support for the recording session for the performance based exam. Tekno Point is also engaged with organizations like Dell helping their internal trainers get certified.
