"While we enjoy and make memories with our families on various festivals, the Indian army lives in the lap of danger, miles away from their loved ones. For this, we cannot thank them enough. They are our real protectors." This sentiment of our soldiers was well perceived by the leading diamond baron of Surat, Shree Govind Dholakia. His perennial motivation encouraged the School Management and the staff to take the girl students at the border and mark the celebration of unconditional love between brothers and sisters by tying rakhis on the wrist of soldiers. This would inculcate the culture of oneness and establish a bonding, that we stand by our brave army eternally.
A heart-warming atmosphere was created, when 95 girls tied beautiful rakhis to 430 BSF jawans. They applied kum kum on their brothers' foreheads and some of them even tied radiant rakhis made by their own hands. Sweets and dry fruits were exchanged amongst all. It was a big family gathering, where all of them had lunch together.
"The soldiers were equally excited to feel this thoughtful gesture. Many of them even wanted to reward their little sisters. But, we did not accept it," said Shree Bhavesh Lathiya, CMO, SRK Group.
Girls were fortunate enough to learn the purpose of various weapons used by the army, from the Commander of 142 Battalion, Shree Kulwant Sharma.
"I always wished for a brother, but didn't have one till this Rakshabandhan. Two of my dreams came true on Monday. I tied rakhi to my brother, who protects us all. I also found a brother for lifetime. I want to go there every year to tie them rakhi," said an overjoyed 16-year-old, Jeel Daeliya, one of the student of V.N. Godhani School.
"I did not imagine that there will be water all round the place where the jawans were patrolling. After completing their duty for eight hours, they walked 20 km in water to reach the base. The enemy lines are just few hundred metres away," said Devika Gol, another student and Jeel's friend.
This patriotic act by the management of V. N. Godhani School has inspired many. The school management will continue to showcase its love and support towards the soldiers, while they remember their families hundreds of miles away. This program was successfully organised under the leadership of Shree Bhavesh Lathiya, CMO, SRK Group and Nanubhai Rasiya, Director of V.N. Godhani School and Mrs. Divya Gajjar, Principal, V.N. Godhani School.
