State Bank of India, the country's largest bank has joined hands with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) as title sponsor for the current Bengaluru Midnight Marathon (SBIBMM), an annual event organized by them. The event will be held at midnight on 14.12.2013 at KTPO, Whitefield. Shri Milkha Singh is the brand ambassador for this year's marathon. The theme for the current marathon is 'Bhaag Bengaluru Bhaag'.

Speaking at the press conference organized at SBI's local head office in Bangalore, Shri Ashwini Mehra, Chief General Manager, Bangalore Circle, SBI informed the press that -
- SBIBMM serves the laudable twin objectives of bringing about awareness amongst today's youth of the need to be physically fit and raising funds for various charitable activities, aimed at bringing about a difference in the lives of the underprivileged section of the society. These objectives are in tune with the SBI corporate philosophy.
- SBI is not only the largest bank in the country but also a leading name in the banking space for fulfilling its responsibilities as a corporate citizen. The bank keeps aside 1% of its profit for CSR activities. During the last financial year (2012-13) as against the target of Rs. 117 crores, bank spent Rs. 123 crores under various CSR activities throughout the country.
- SBI is celebrating 30 years of formation of Bangalore Circle this year. The Circle commenced operation on the 16th August 1983 with just 192 offices in the state, which has now grown to more than 600 offices.
- SBI shall continually strive to excel in all fields and participate in the economic growth of the state, whether it be in the areas of banking or community development.
