Parsis are descendants of Zoroastrians who fled Iran during the Arab invasion in the 17th century. They eventually settled along the west coast of India and it's during that time they developed a distinct cuisine, one that proudly boasts of Gujarati, Maharashtrian, Iranian and British flavours.
After an enriching experience across various hotel brands, Chef Farzana Avari took up the responsibility of developing budding chefs at the Anjuman I Islam College while continuing to pursue her passion for cooking at home. She is delighted to present her traditional homemade Parsi recipes with the team at Soma. Some of the specials on her menu include Patra ni Macchi, Mutton Dhansak, Salli Boti, Murghi Na Frilly Cutlets, Tarela Lila Boomla, Salli per Eeda, Lagan nu Stew, Lal Masala Bharela Bangra, Kheema & Brun Pao, Murgi na Farcha, Akoori, Lagan nu Custard, Kopra No Paak & many more.
