Optosecurity Signs Agreement With Smiths Detection
QUÉBEC CITY, June 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Optosecurity and Smiths Detection have signed a long term Definitive Agreement towards developing and distributing an advanced Checkpoint Enterprise Software Solution that improves the overall performance and further cuts operational costs of security checkpoints without compromising regulatory compliance or security.
This is the second such arrangement between the two companies. The first agreement, which has been in place for the past two (2) years, is a cooperation agreement for the sale and distribution of Optosecurity's Optoscreener solution, an automated detection software that provides advanced detection algorithms that, when combined with Smiths Detection checkpoint X-ray systems, enable the automated detection of liquid explosives, bottles, weapons, and other advanced risk management solutions.
"We are very pleased to be working with Smiths Detection, a global leader in checkpoint technologies," said Eric Bergeron, President and CEO of Optosecurity. Together the companies bring a business solution to the industry that will positively transform the economics and efficiency of delivering security screening without compromising security. "Our combined technologies will enable checkpoint efficiencies that increase passenger throughput and lower operating costs, all while maintaining today's stringent security requirements," added Mr. Bergeron.
