In the year 2016, admissions to all B.Tech programmes of Lovely Professional University will only be through its prestigious entrance test 'LPUNEST-2016'. Previously, LPU considered JEE Main and other central and state government tests also for admissions.

From this year onwards, LPU is set to conduct its own entrance test so that students do not have to go for many other tests. Moreover, LPU is adopting the US pattern flexibility for students to book their slot of entrance test as per their preferred place and time. This online test is scheduled from 15th April to 30th April 2016 and will be conducted across 113 Indian cities. Online counseling and seat allocation wll be done from the 4th of May 2016. The scores in the test will be considered as eligibility for admission to LPU B.Tech programmes and for scholarships up to Rs 7.5 Lakh per student. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the test. Last date of receipt of application is 29th Feb 2016.
For the last many years, lakhs of applicants have been registering for LPUNEST tests, augmenting this test to be the largest private entrance test, including all state, central government, and private tests held in India. LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal informed, "In order to admit quality students for quality education, and also following feedback from many students and faculty members, admission in all LPU B Tech programmes from now onward will be through LPUNEST entrance test only. Starting in 2009, this test, in just 7 years, has become one of the largest entrance tests in India."

I advise students not to wait for the last dates, they should apply and appear for the test at the earliest to avoid last moment rush."
The test duration is of 120 minutes and consists of 90 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of objective type. Each MCQ will consist of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement, and four responses thereof with only one correct or the most appropriate answer.
