NEW DELHI, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
This contest is not an ordinary one, to be the Men's Health guy, you have to not just be in shape, but also someone who battles modern day stresses- illnesses, financial stress, physical challenges, relationship troubles and yet spends time energetically pursuing their interests. Men's Health has featured in the past Bollywood celebrities and sportsperson but those have been far and few. This contest is aimed at the real guys - be it accountants, lawyers or journalists, all of whom have to battle challenges threatening their day-to-day efficiency. In fact, the 2014 winner of the US Cover Guy Contest was Noah Galloway, a war veteran with an amputated arm and leg.
This contest is running in other countries as well but in different ways. Few of the magazine editions are hosting on-ground event, and others have online and mobile phone voting.
Jamal Shaikh, Editorial Director, Men's Health, says: "Men's Health India has always celebrated the fitness commitment of real guys, those who live with work pressures of everyday life, yet make a commitment to keep themselves fit. The MH Cover Guy contest is one way to put the spotlight on inspirational physiques that tell a story. Of course, a Men's Health Guy will have a ripped body, but also the personality to inspire others like him to get fit. We're not looking for body-builders, we're looking for real stories that will motivate others to take up fitness as a lifestyle."
