Men's Health Guy Prateik Actually Moves: Presenting India's First 'Moving Cover'
NEW DELHI, November 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
If a cover model is meant to breathe life into an otherwise mundane magazine cover, young Bollywood actor Prateik does that quite literally on the front page of Men's Health India's 5th Anniversary Issue this November.
The young star, usually scrawny, seems to have bulked up to pass the Men's Health muster. But even before you take your eyes of his six-pack, you notice Prateik blink and wonder if you're hallucinating. Consumers of the magazine on the website, on tablet computers and on mobile phones then see Prateik laugh heartily at your confusion, and you realize that this is India's first-ever 'moving cover'.
The 'moving cover' can be experienced on http://www.menshealthindia.com, on the tablet versions of the magazine, and can also be downloaded to your mobile phone by scanning a code in the magazine. It marks a breakthrough in the world of Indian publishing.
"This is our attempt at making use of newer technology to enhance the experience of consumers," said Jamal Shaikh, Editorial Director of Men's Health India. "This is just a small taste of times to come."
Actor Prateik added excitedly: "The moving cover is great, but I'm honoured to simply be on the front page of Men's Health. God knows I've slogged hard at the gym, and resisted too many doughnuts to qualify."
Men's Health is India's largest-selling men's magazine, and was launched in the country by The India Today Group in 2006. It marks its 5th Anniversary in November. Internationally, it is the world's largest magazine in the men's category as well. Along with its focus on the core topics of health, fitness and nutrition, Men's Health embodies the feel of a true lifestyle magazine with sections on fashion, grooming, adventure, work, managing relationships and a surplus of other 'guy' topics.
