On the occasion, while speaking to the gathering, Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao said, "Only CSR activities coupled with advanced technologies will reach the common man. NIMS provides expensive surgeries at low cost to poor people. I am happy with what NIMS have done - 1,084 kidney transplantation surgeries, 7 liver transplantation surgeries and above hundred bone marrow surgeries. The Telangana government is also initiating a lot of programmes in the health sector. Recently, we started 'Kanti Velugu', a mega eye screening programme, and it has received a good response from the people," K. Taraka Rama Rao said.
On the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, after the inauguration, Ministers K. Taraka Rama Rao and C. Laxma Reddy conducted a puja. Later, the ICU, male and children wards were opened by Ministers K. Taraka Rama Rao, C. Laxma Reddy, NIMS Director Manohar and MEIL Chairman P.P. Reddy. The female ward was opened by MEIL Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy and his sons P.V. Pranav Reddy and P.V. Manas Reddy. Minister KTR then interacted with cancer-afflicted children. While addressing the gathering, Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao appreciated MEIL Chairman P.P. Reddy and Managing Director P.V. Krishna Reddy for providing better amenities to oncology patients.
P.V. Krishna Reddy announced that MEIL will maintain the new oncology building for next three years and promised to renovate the old oncology building. MEIL spent approximately Rs. 10 crores to create the modern facility, equipping it with 50 beds for oncology patients. He suggested that every corporate company should come forward and participate in social service programmes like Megha Engineering.
Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy praised the MEIL social service initiatives. "We thank the MEIL management for providing such astounding facilities," C. Laxma Reddy said.
Our CSR Programs will continue: MEIL Chairman P.P. Reddy
"Our social service programmes under corporate social responsibility will continue in future also and our CSR activity is a continuous process to build a better society," said MEIL chairman P. P. Reddy. "With a budget of Rs. 10 crore, we created the best Oncology facilities at NIMS on the official's request. We have provided ICU and separate wards for male, female and children. We will renovate the old oncology building too. We are providing free midday meals at several hospitals and providing basic amenities in several villages of both Telugu speaking states," P.P.
