"The company's order book, as on 31st May 2017, is about Rs. 61000 Crore (USD 9.51 billion). This includes bookings of about Rs. 17000 Crores added during the financial year 2016-17. MEIL has several firsts to its credit. It has entered the Limca Book of Records for fastest completion of Pattiseema Lift Irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh within the stipulated timelines. Earned accolades from the Union Ministry of Power for completing NP Kunta power grid substation well before the deadline. It has successfully completed Asia's largest drip irrigation project, involving 2,150 kilometers of pipeline, at Ramthal Marola area of Bhagalkot district in Karnataka and the project was dedicated to the nation. It has also built the WUPPTCL project with the latest and most proven technologies in the sector. This is amongst the first biggest projects in India to be designed with Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). MEIL, the Hyderabad-based company, has been executing various government projects simultaneously both in India and abroad. Likewise under phase-3, package-4 of Devadula lift irrigation scheme, Dharma Sagar, Gandi Ramaram, Bommakur schemes were completed. Under power sector, MEIL has raced against time to complete on time projects like WUPPTCL, NP Kunta, Maheswaram, Narsapur, Kalikiri substations, JamNagar-Jetpur, Bethamcherla, Tadipatri power transmission lines. Ramadugu 400 KV substation which is crucial for the biggest pumping station (package-8) under Kaleswaram project was executed on time.
Further Srinivas Reddy explained, Western Uttar Pradesh Power Supply Company (WUPPTCL) having 1500 MVA substation is so unique that it was adjudged as the Best Company by TARANG, a monitoring tool developed by Union Ministry of Energy that tracks upcoming transmission. With a transmission capacity of 13220 MVA, WUPPTCL is able to supply 4000 MW of power. WUPPTCL owned and operated by Megha, excels over Power Grid and transmission companies of Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan states in power supply.
In the hydrocarbon sector, MEIL has successfully completed piped gas scheme in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Tumkur and Belgavi districts of Karnataka. It had also executed similar projects in the state of Assam and Kesanapalli near Rajamahendravarm in Andhra Pradesh.
"Likewise, under the drinking water sector, MEIL has built the largest water treatment plants in Asia in the state of Telangana as part of Godavari Water Supply Scheme to Hyderabad. Under Water Grid project, water treatment plants, up to a maximum capacity of 145 MLD, were constructed in Mahabub Nagar, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak districts and were dedicated to the nation. Pipelines to an extent of 25 thousand kilometers were laid in record time thus leaving a mark of its own on Water Grid project of Telangana.
