In keeping with the annual tradition, Lady Bevan, patron of the Grant Govan Homes for the elderly, hosted a festive coffee morning to help raise funds for the historic old-age home. The highlight of the morning was an 'imaginative hat contest', adjudged by Lady Bevan. The British High Commissioner's residence, venue of the 'Coffee Morning', was a riot of color as Indians and expatriates of different nationalities assembled in elaborate head-gear. Fruit bowls, crow's nest, overflowing tumblers of beer, and hats studded with dark-chocolate truffles - onlookers had a variety to be amused by.

The other attractions of the day included a charity raffle, a fete with stalls, a tarot table and an elephant stall. These helped raise funds for the Grant Govan Homes for the elderly, an initiative that's supported by G4S India, a subsidiary of the world's leading professional security solutions' company. In addition to representatives from embassies of Philippines, Japan and USA, among others, the event was well attended by famous Delhi faces including anchor and former model Shivani Wazir Pasricha.

The Grant Govan Memorial Homes (GGMH) was originally started by friends of R.E Grant Govan, following his death in 1940 as a memorial to his charitable life. He was a British entrepreneur and the founding President of the BCCI. The Grant Govan homes are retirement homes forAnglo-Indians with limited means and were inaugurated byMarchioness of Linlithgow, wife of the then Viceroy of India in October 1940.
