KPMG launches @gov, a new resource bringing transformational insights and ideas to government professionals
TORONTO, Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG International has launched @gov, a new online resource designed to deliver forward-thinking, transformative insights for public sector leaders around the world who are addressing heightened demands, security threats and emerging societal needs, in the face of rapidly evolving technology and increased financial constraints.
"Through our Government practices around the world, we have insight into the common issues concerning the public sector globally, while also appreciating the significance of the local environment," said Nick Chism, Global Chair of Government, Infrastructure and Healthcare, KPMG International. "@gov is a resource that we believe will enable a constructive discussion on these important perspectives."
Focusing on critical issues for government
In Future State 2030, KPMG identified megatrends that are likely to shape government policies and programs in coming years, from demographics to economic interconnectedness and public debt, to climate change and urbanization. @gov brings insights into how governments can best respond to the transformative change demanded by these trends, including:
- Effectively transforming operations and functions to meet changing structural and service requirements;
- Using enabling technology to expand capabilities and gain efficiencies; and,
- Creating management and culture that support transformative change.
The theme of @gov for Q3 2016 is 'Transforming government in the age of technology', with particular insights on the topics of:
- Digital identification and the challenges of implementation across key jurisdictions;
- The public policy imperatives surrounding the rise of autonomous vehicles;
- Cyber security and government vulnerability to cybercrime.
Published on an ongoing basis, @gov is available at KPMG.com/atgov or delivered directly via subscription into a reader's inbox. For media, @gov aims to become a resource that will help journalists discover new sources, case studies and recent data that may be useful in story development.
