Kavalan Claims Top 5 Whiskies in the World at International Review of Spirits
Taiwan whiskymaker sets IRS alight, taking out the biggest Platinum awards
TAIPEI, Taiwan, Sept. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kavalan has monopolized the independent Beverage Testing Institute's "International Review of Spirits" competition, ensuring that no other whisky appeared in its top 5 rankings.
Kavalan scored the 5 highest rated Platinum Medals (Superlative) and 10 Gold Medals (Exceptional) in the 2016 results announced last week, bringing its total trophy chest to more than 200 gold medals or above.

No. 2 "Solist" Vinho Barrique Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky - 98

No. 4 "Solist" Sherry Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky - 97
No. 5 Sherry Oak Single Malt Whisky - 97

Ex-Bourbon Oak, Single Malt Whisky, Concertmaster, King Car Conductor and Podium. And in the "Solist" Single Cask Strength range: the Brandy, Manzanilla Sherry, Pedro Ximenez Sherry, Moscatel Sherry, and Fino Sherry.
Previously, the prestigious World Whiskies Awards (WWA) named the Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique its 2015 "World's Best Single Malt Whisky" and the Solist Amontillado Sherry Single Cask Strength the 2016 "World's Best Single Cask Single Malt Whisky."
