Isolux Corsan, through its subsidiary Isolux Infrastructure, has energized Rewa Road substation of 400 kV GIS, integrated into the construction of the most important project for high voltage transmission lines and substations in India and one of the biggest projects is currently unfolding in the world market. The project´s scope consists of the construction and operation of about 1,530 km of EHV transmission lines with voltages of 765 kV and 400 kV, as well as 3 AIS transformer substations (765/400/220/132 kV) and 2 AIS transformer substations (400/220 kV).

The project was awarded by the public entity U.P. Power Transmission Company Limited (UPPTCL) on a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate and Transfer) contract. The network will enable evacuating the energy from new power plants and will transport it through the state, which has the highest population in India (with an estimated population of more than 200 million people).
Rewa Road Substation, the first 400 kV GIS substation in the state, has been energized through two lines, denominated Obra and Meja-1/ Bara. It will allow energy transmission between voltages of 400 kV and 220 kV, interconnect 10 EHV transmission lines of 400 kV and 4 transmission lines of 220 kV. The substation, located in Allahabad, takes part of a government´s plan to provide 24 hours power supply in cities, 16 hours in villages and 22 hours in district headquarters and it will have low maintenance cost, efficient and effective functioning and long life.
