BANGALORE, July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Moves up one Spot to #3 in the IT Industry Category
Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU), a leading provider of business and financial management solutions for small and mid-sized businesses, has been ranked #10 in the "India's Best Companies to Work For - 2016" survey released by the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute in partnership with The Economic Times. Intuit has been on the list for 'India's Best Companies to Work For' for the past 8 years. This is its 3rd consecutive year in the Top 10. It was ranked #7 in 2015 and #8 in 2014. Intuit was also ranked #8 in 'Asia's Best Companies to Work For - 2016' survey instituted by the GPTW earlier this year.
"We are thrilled that we have been recognised once again in India as a great place to work. The company's commitment to continuous improvement has enabled it to consistently feature in the Top 10 Best Companies to Work For list. This work environment empowers the world's top talent to do the best work of their lives for customers, and has enabled us to navigate multiple platform and business model shifts, fight off hordes of incumbent and disruptive competitors, and continue to grow our company and produce attractive returns for our partners and our shareholders," said Vijay Anand, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Intuit India Development Centre (IDC).
This year Intuit was ranked #3 in the IT industry category, up from #4 last year. Over the last year, Intuit has invested in building programmes to drive employee engagement and retention. Our Tech Women@Intuit programme is an initiative lead by a group of women employees who volunteer their time and talent towards making Intuit an awesome place for technical women. Specifically under this, Intuit launched a pioneering programme to reintroduce women technologists coming back to active work careers after taking a break. This programme is known as Intuit Again.
Additionally, Intuit created a unique programme for its employees in India known as Intuit Leap . This leadership development programme aims to develop next-generation leaders for Intuit who drive change, not just for the organisation but for the Intuit ecosystem at large.
"It is a great honour to be recognised as one of the Best Companies to Work For in India. We take pride in our people and consider them to be our greatest assets. We prioritise investing in them, and have been committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We are delighted to know that our efforts to encourage and nurture the best-in-class employee work-life benefits have been so greatly appreciated by our employees. The rewards have followed as today we have a thriving workforce that is genuinely passionate about their work, and their commitment to Intuit," said Somnath Baishya, Director and Head of HR, Intuit India.
Intuit recently revamped its parental policies in January 2016 and presented it under the #GotYouCovered programme. It aims at not only helping employees celebrate parenthood with ample time off, but also addresses the dual parental responsibilities that new mothers and fathers have to take on after a child's birth. Under the new benefits, Intuit offers paid maternity leave for up to 26 calendar weeks (as against the statutory norm of 12 calendar weeks) and paternity leave up to 15 working days. This allows our employees more time to ensure they have sufficient support at home once they re-join work. Adoption leave is agnostic to gender and is provided to all employees adopting children - whether male or female - so long as they are the primary caregiver of the child. For those adopting, Intuit offers adoption assistance that helps new parents with the mounting legal work and fees that adoption entails along with 26 weeks of paid leave.
Congratulating Intuit on its Top 10 ranking this year, Prasenjit Bhattacharya, CEO, Great Place to Work® Institute, India, said, "Having a robust organisational culture ensures that your employees see your business through and helps meet strategic goals, no matter what the future brings. Intuit is a role model for several organisations and their commitment towards creating and sustaining a great workplace culture for their employees is commendable."
This year, the 100 Best Workplaces represents 16 industries and Intuit is featured in the IT category. More than 750 companies and over 155,119 employees participated and were evaluated, making it the largest survey of workplace cultures in corporate India. The list was finalised using a combination of confidential employee responses and data on various aspects of work culture and people practices. The GPTW Institute uses a unique employee-centric framework that measures the levels of trust, pride and camaraderie prevalent in an organisation through Trust Index©, a proprietary employee survey tool developed by the Great Place To Work Institute.
