Industry-First Offerings Enable Video Quality Assurance Integration in Emerging NFV/SDN Network Architectures
BOSTON, Feb. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- IneoQuest Technologies, the global leader in video quality and audience behavioral intelligence solutions, today announced the release of three of its award-winning video quality assurance products in scalable virtualized formats, for use in networks built around Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles. As the demand for anytime/anywhere/any device video viewing intensifies, NFV/SDN architectures will be the key to the success of future networks.

As NFV continues to evolve, early access to virtualized end-to-end video quality assurance and analytics solutions is critical to meeting the needs of quality-focused network operators. IneoQuest is enabling the integration of scalable, on-demand 24/7 quality measurement into their future network architectures from the start, rather than as an afterthought.
"NFV and SDN enabled deployments require real time information in order to be rapidly scalable and successful. In the case of video delivery, real-time quality metrics will be critical in order to catch a consumer before they get frustrated and drop the stream," said Calvin Harrison, CEO of IneoQuest. "Providing the necessary real-time analytics is non-trivial and is an area that IQ has excelled at for years. Our virtualized solutions are aimed squarely at meeting this analytics need and are ideally suited for the real time needs of NFV deployments."
The new virtualized offerings include scalable versions of IneoQuest's solutions for video service assurance and analytics, including:
Coupled with IneoQuest's content delivery network (CDN) video availability testing service and the latest client player analytics, these virtual advancements provide unprecedented visibility and scalability for video service delivery to content providers and video service providers. IneoQuest's end-to-end solution offerings enable much greater potential for advanced customer experience management and analytics, and, in turn, contribute directly to brand protection and monetization of video services.
IneoQuest worked closely with leading video service providers to validate the solutions for multiscreen service assurance and to support industry leading virtualization platforms, and pioneered multiple proof-of-concepts with Intel Corporation around Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) as part of the Intel® Network Builders program. The virtualized solutions have been extensively tested with various Intel processor-based blade and server platforms, and leverage the DPDK libraries for performance networking.
IneoQuest's virtualized offerings, available in a wide variety of licensed capacities, can be combined to create powerful service assurance platforms. For maximum flexibility, they may also be paired with IneoQuest's appliance-based versions of the solutions. The combined solution can be customized for a full-end-to-end video service deployment for large-scale multiscreen services, or scale down for smaller numbers of premium streams for content providers who need to ensure their high value streams are entering and leaving the video head-end in pristine condition before hand-off to downstream networks and CDNs.
The virtualized solutions, currently under evaluation by multiple network integrators and operators, will be available through standard sales channels in April 2016.
