IMT Ghaziabad (IMTG), India's premier management school with a distinct focus on grooming Leadership through Innovation, Execution and Social Responsibility, organised an IT and Analytics conclave on 'Digital Veins: Changing Business Landscape', on December 12, 2017, at its campus. With an objective of providing a platform to deliberate and discuss the latest trends in the IT and Analytics area in India and globally, and provide an industry perspective on the same, the Conclave witnessed amalgamation of senior industry leaders representing Barclay's Bank, Wipro Limited, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Indian Postal Academy, Mother Dairy, et al. The Conclave also witnessed the release of a publication comprising the working papers based on the summer internships of the students, titled 'Digital Veins: Changing Business Landscape'.

The inaugural session of the Conclave was unveiled with the traditional way of the lighting of the lamp, followed by the Director, IMTG, Dr Atish Chattopadhyay setting the tone of the conference. Dr Chattopadhyay, in his inaugural address, said, " IT and Analytics as an academic area is not so commonly found in the B-schools of the country. IMTG as an institution fathoms innovation as one of the cornerstones and hence, the recent overhaul in the PGDM curriculum introduced the IT and Analytics, as one of the domain specialisations backed by our faculty with relevant industry connect. The institute houses a dedicated lab for IT and Analytics, in addition to the labs in the area of Digital Marketing, Media and Entertainment, and Finance etc. which is a first in the B-schools of the country. We strongly feel that as the dynamism of the IT and Analytics area keeps changing, it's time that 'Changing with the Changing Landscape' becomes the need of the hour. In the technical session of the conclave, Mr Anirban Guha, Vice-President (Retail Analytics), Barclay's Bank, spoke at length on the changing dynamics in the IT and Analytics industry. Taking a cue from VUCA (VUCA is an acronym used to describe or reflect on the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of general conditions and situations), he discussed the 3 As that have revolutionised Customer Service, namely, Analytics, Automation/Robotics/ Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Mr Kunal Kaushal, Principal Consultant, Big Data and Analytics, Wipro Limited, deliberated on Smart Cities and the components it comprises. Talking about Big Data and the Market Trends w.r.t. Smart city components, he categorically said that 90% of the data in the world had been created in the last two years alone and the same would have huge impacts as far as Big Data and Business Analytics, Prescriptive and Predictive Analysis are concerned.
Mr Neeraj Jha, Director (Project Management Unit), Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Indian Postal Academy, talked about how the industry has seen significant disruptions in the last five years driven by the digital innovation. The talk was followed by Mr Rhishikesh Kanegoankar, Head, IT (Applications) Mother Dairy, discussing on digital transformation and its dynamics. The Techincal session-II had presentations on seminal papers by the students of the domain, and the same was concluded with the announcement of the best seminal paper and a formal vote of thanks.
