The IAPP and OneTrust have partnered to provide an exclusive, web-based platform to support the implementation of data protection and privacy impact assessments (PIA or DPIA) in an agile, cross-jurisdictional, and GDPR-compliant approach.
"The IAPP and OneTrust Comprehensive PIA Platform will provide the tools organizations need to comply with upcoming GDPR requirements," said OneTrust CEO Kabir Barday, CIPM, CIPP/US, CIPT. "OneTrust is proud to offer IAPP members with a strong, inclusive PIA resource."
Comprehensive PIA Platform Overview
The platform is available in a single-license edition, and facilitates three critical steps for the privacy office:
- Tailoring and distributing intake questions to business respondents
- Reviewing responses in gap analysis workflows to flag risks and document recommendations
- Generating reports and metrics on the health of the privacy program
The Comprehensive PIA Platform is highly configurable through a point-and-click online interface and gives the privacy office the ability to conduct data protection and privacy impact assessments (DPIA's or PIAs), vendor risk assessments, GDPR assessments, and other compliance and risk assessments.
"The IAPP OneTrust platform will deliver a distinct advantage to privacy leaders who are managing complex requirements for data collection and use -- it will become a vital tool for traversing the GDPR" said Dr. Ann Cavoukian, OneTrust Board Advisor, Executive Director of The Privacy and Big Data Institute at Ryerson University, and three-term Information & Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada who created Privacy by Design.
Key features of the free platform include:
- Online, cloud-based platform (no software to install)
- Free single-administrator license
- Unlimited usage and respondents
- PIA questionnaire customization
- Ready-made PIA template included
"Changing regulatory environments and social norms make the job of privacy officers increasingly complex," said IAPP President and CEO J. Trevor Hughes, CIPP. "Our members need technical solutions like OneTrust to make them proactive, allow them to go beyond compliance, and make them strategic to their organizations."
