Healthcare Turns Hyper Digital. Now Book an Appointment or Consult a Specialist Online.
HYDERABAD, India, November 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Remember the last time you stood in the queue to book your travel tickets or your favourite movie show? How about waiting in line at the bank to transfer money or queuing up at 'Kirana' stores to buy grocery? Don't worry. Even Google would have a tough time recollecting this. From shopping to banking to ordering food, the World Wide Web today has made managing daily chores a breeze. Why should taking care of your health be any different then?
Realising this latent need, Apollo Hospitals has taken the first step in this direction, through which the entire ecosystem of healthcare services would now be available at one's fingertips. Launched under the brand name 'Ask Apollo', the online healthcare platform offers physical appointment booking, virtual consultation with a doctor, access to health records online, preventive health check packages and healthcare services at home. These services are available across the group's all 70 hospitals, 200+ Apollo clinics (including speciality, dental and sugar) and 137 diagnostic centres and can be accessed through the website http://www.askapollo.com.
The Physical Appointment booking service (formerly popular under the brand name Apollo Edoc) can be availed for more than 4500 doctors from cardiologist to gynaecologist to oncologist under the Apollo group and is spread across a pool of 220 specialties. Instant appointment can be booked for any doctor through a simple 3-step process, saving one of the hassles of standing in queues and waiting at the hospital premise for an appointment.
A patient can also consult a doctor through his laptop or mobile from the convenience of his home or office through the Online Consultation service offered by the platform. Through the service, a doctor can be consulted via video, phone call or email. The 100% online virtual consultation service hosts more than 1000 doctors across 54 specialties. Patients can consult a family physician, an Apollo specialist or avail specialised tumour board consultation that comprise a group of multidisciplinary doctors who meet and review cases and recommend a personalised therapy and treatment.
Other services include accessing patient health records online, booking a preventive health check package or requesting for healthcare service delivery at the doorstep.
