The Fair had participants from Warangal, Vijaywada, Vishakhapatnam, Nellore, Nizamabad and other parts of South India.
With more than 110 exhibitors participating from regions outside Hyderabad, HJF continues to be a gateway to the South Indian jewellery market, providing an industry platform for buyers and suppliers to connect, network, exchange ideas, discover upcoming trends and generate business opportunities. At the fair, the exhibitors presented a wide spectrum of merchandise including diamonds, pearls, gemstones, studded jewellery, exquisite South Indian gold jewellery including the traditional and antique collection of Kundan and Naqash jewellery. Latest machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process and other related products and services were also on display.
Speaking at the show, "Mr Yogesh Mudras, Acting Managing Director, UBM India, said, "According to UBM India's recent study with D&B, in 2014, the gems and jewellery sector contributed 6-7% to India's GDP. India is amongst one of the world's fastest growing Gem and Jewellery markets and South India, the biggest market. While our organised jewellery retail is still nascent, the opportunity for growth is unlimited. The sector is witnessing changes in consumer preferences with increasing demand for innovative designs and variety in jewellery. HJF has been instrumental in bridging the gap between this industry demand and supply for its participating exhibitors and visitors and the show will continue to further fulfil the needs of the industry. It has been a constant endeavour of UBM India to provide a platform to the jewellery traders to connect and generate business, thus meeting the larger industry need in India. The Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair, over the years, has become an industry benchmark for trade in the region and will continue to be the South India gateway for markets across the country. UBM India owes the success of the 8th edition of HJF to all the participating exhibitors and the jewellery associations of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for their continued partnership. The increase in visitor turnout over the three days further validates the success of the show."
HJF was also the chosen platform for the joint annual general meeting between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh jewellers association. The meeting was followed by UBM India's felicitation of select jewellers for their contribution to the jewellery business in the regions, over the years.
