The 5th International Conference on Homeland Security - 'Industry's role in National Security' was organized by ASSOCHAM on August 16th and 17th in New Delhi. Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Government of India, Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir was the chief guest of the event.

Speaking at the occasion, the Hon'ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Government of India, Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said, "It is our Prime Minister's dream to be able to indigenously source all the security requirements of the country. He also said that the Homeland Security conference was held at an opportune time just after the country celebrated its 70th year of independence. Dr. D R Kaarthikeyen, the Chairman of the ASSOCHAM Homeland Security Committee, highlighted the importance of National Security, particularly in view of the worsening security situation around the world. He highlighted the need for recruiting the best personnel, investing in the right training and equipping them with the best gear.
