Essel Group Launches its Path-breaking New Marathi Weekly - Zee Marathi Disha
MUMBAI, December 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Following the success stories of Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies and Zee 24 Taas, the Essel Group has launched the first-of-its-kind print offering from a television network - 'Zee Marathi Disha', a weekly Marathi newspaper. The first copy of the newspaper was unveiled by Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, at a glittering event in Mumbai on Tuesday, December 05, 2017. Mumbai city mayor Shri Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, former Union Home Minister, Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Union Minister of State for Social Justice, Shri Ramdas Athavale and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president, Shri Raj Thackeray graced the occasion, along with Rajya Sabha MP & Chairman - Essel Group, Shri Subhash Chandra and 'Zee Marathi Disha' Editor-in-Chief, Shri Vijay Kuvalekar.
Congratulating the ZEE Group for starting a weekly newspaper that caters to the needs of all sections of society, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said, "One may be surprised that a group like ZEE, which is well-entrenched in electronic media, is turning towards print. But then, Subhashji is known for his innovative spirit. I am sure that like Sukh Warta on Zee 24 Taas, Disha, too, will provide much needed positivity to the society at large."
Shri Subhash Chandra, Rajya Sabha MP and Mentor - Essel Group, said, "On the eve of Babasaheb Ambedkarji's Mahaparinirvan Diwas, we have been inspired by Dr. Ambedkar, who gave the country direction in the form of the Constitution, and are launching 'Zee Marathi Disha' in an effort to give direction in the field of literature, sports, entertainment and politics to the people of Maharashtra."
Shri Sanjeev Garg, CEO - DNA & Zee Marathi Disha, said, "There was a clear opportunity to create a vibrant and premium newspaper that is an aggregator for the whole family. The market looks for brands that they can trust in the era of fake news. Zee Marathi Disha will resonate with the values, ambition and the mind-set of every household in Maharashtra. It was about time that we had differentiated yet extremely relevant content that was served to the readers in Maharashtra and we readily accepted the challenge. The clutter-busting approach of adopting an all family inclusive newspaper as opposed to the traditional segmentation helps in getting families together though the product."
Shri Vijay Kuvalekar, Editor-in-Chief of 'Zee Marathi Disha', said, "In the cluttered news space with multiple news formats, there is a lacuna of a single aggregator which brings together the entire array of content suitable for family. Credibility and in-depth analysis is lacking in modern times. The reader is looking for solutions from experts which can cater to multiple people in the same household."
With best-in-class Marathi editorial content across genres such as current affairs, business, health, entertainment, technology and kids, this 44-page weekly newspaper is set to be a family favourite. It will be targeted to the new-age readers who are ambitious and savvy, yet rooted in culture. 'Zee Marathi Disha' will be available to readers in 130 towns across Maharashtra, hitting news stands every Saturday and through subscription.
The brand positioning of 'Pano Pani Nave Pratyekala Have' denotes 'Zee Marathi Disha' as the brand that will get the family back together again with its wide range of content in a single newspaper for the readers. In-depth analysis on the topics that impact consumers and the relentless pursuit of truth are the values that the brand will stand by.
Zee Marathi Disha will hit the news stands every Saturday across Maharashtra.
