NEW DELHI, April 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
- Introduces 2-in-1 Air purifier and humidifier series 3000
- Features Advanced AeraSense sensing technology that helps you monitor air quality in real-time
As part of Philips' commitment to deliver meaningful innovation in personal health and well-being, Philips India is marking the World Allergy Week by introducing a new range of smart and innovative air purifiers. These new products, Philips 3000i and 5000i series will empower families to take control of indoor air quality, and help reduce the triggers that aggravate a child's allergy symptoms.
As the spring season kicks in with sneezes, coughs and watery eyes, allergy/asthma sufferers and families with children are looking for ways to ease symptoms and counter indoor air bound allergens. According to the INSEARCH report published in 2017, roughly 4-5 % of the total Indian population suffers from chronic airborne diseases. Children, especially during summer holidays, tend to spend a large proportion of time indoors; with studies showing that indoor air can be up to 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. Expressing his concern, Dr. Arjun Khanna, MD DM, Senior Consultant Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, said, "Cases of asthma and respiratory allergies are on the rise. Poor air quality, pollution and smoking make this disease worse. Asthma is easily controllable in most patients with therapy and avoidance of allergens and pollutants. Let's purify the air we breathe, and fight the menace of asthma and chronic respiratory diseases."
To help make the home environment cleaner, Philips new air purifiers have been specifically developed to significantly improve the quality of indoor air. The new range includes the 2-in-1 air purifier and humidifier - Mario (AC3821), MicroCube (AC5659) and Puma DI (AC3259). Equipped with VitaShield IPS, AeraSense and NanoCloud technology, these air purifiers are proven to help improve indoor air quality while easing asthma and allergy symptoms in children and adults. This range of Air purifiers from Philips uses True HEPA filters and is tested to remove 99.9% of PM2.5, bacteria, H1N1, and 99.97% of 0.3um particles, which is the size of common allergens in the air. These products also include the unique numerical index, corresponding colour ring, and connected app, making it easy to track and control air quality at home - alerting in real-time to even the slightest change in indoor air conditions.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Gulbahar Taurani, Marketing Director & Business Head, Domestic Appliances, Philips India said, "At Philips, we are constantly looking for new opportunities to improve peoples' lives through meaningful innovations. Understanding the growing concern in the country today around the ever-increasing hypersensitivity to allergies, especially in children, our endeavour was to evaluate our existing portfolio and bring in highly advanced technology that truly makes a difference to the lives of our consumers. With this new range of air purifiers, users will breathe cleaner air at home and also comfortably transition to new seasons and minimize allergen-related symptoms."
Built with NanoCloud humidification technology, Mario (AC3821) is a 2-in-1 device that not just purifies the air but also maintains optimum humidity in the room. It removes pollutants and allergens as small as 0.003um from the air, 800 times smaller than PM2.5, apart from removing dust, smoke and pet dander. It also offers a smart humidity sensor that enables the consumer to precisely manage the humidity level of the room and shuts off automatically to prevent over-humidification, hence, making indoor air healthy and comfortable to breathe.
With AeraSense technology, Philips air purifiers automatically monitor, react, and purify indoor air, sensing and giving real time feedback on pollution levels in the room. They remove the most common allergens, including pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, as well as gases and odors. These purifiers also have an extra-sensitive allergen mode that boosts the fan speed even when it detects small increases of allergens in the air.
In addition to this, these air purifiers operate on a low noise level, allowing you to fall asleep and wake up more easily. The purifier also has a special allergen mode, which could come in aid for those prone to common allergies.
Pricing for specific models is MicroCube (AC5659)-INR 49,995, Mario (AC3821)-Humidifier + Purifier- INR 37,995 and Puma DI (AC3259)- INR 39,995.
