Hosted in a number of different cloud infrastructure providers around the world, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Compute Environment (GCE), Silo is highly integrable and many of Authentic8's customers pair the service with their existing web access and content control technologies. For example, end users accessing unclassified web sites are transparently directed through Silo, as are end users accessing personal email. In both of these use cases, the organization's network and end-user devices are insulated from malware infections.
Another noteworthy feature of Silo's service is the reduction in the traffic load between end-user locations and the virtual browsers. Compared to standard native browsers, Authentic8's virtual browser reduces incoming traffic stream (rendering) by 30 – 50 percent. This is a significant advantage for businesses that are broadening access permissions, but not their Internet bandwidth capacity.
Operationally and confirmed by Silo customers, reductions in security incidents, permission exceptions, and log analysis on web use is a common outcome with Silo use.
