SHANGHAI, March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 12, 2016, Antai College of Economics & Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University and IE Business School announced the launch of dual degree programs, an important step forward in the strategic partnership between the business schools. Dean of ACEM Prof. Lin Zhou and Dean of IE Business School Prof. Santiago Iñiguez addressed a select crowd of students, alumni and media at the ceremony.
ACEM is IE's first and only partner school in mainland China to establish dual degree programs; the MBA dual degree program and MIB-MIM dual degree program. The programs allow students to obtain degrees from both top-ranked institutions, and gain an advanced understanding of Chinese and European perspectives on global business.
The programs make it easier to share faculty, alumni resources and corporate relations, two prominent business schools joining hands in delivering the best programs and in developing business talents with global vision. Antai's MBA program and Master in Management ranks 39th and 36th worldwide respectively by Financial Times, both occupying the No.1 place of domestic business schools.
"ACEM and IE have worked closely for many years. Both schools emphasize and promote the education of innovation and entrepreneurship. I am pleased to bear witness to the launching of the dual degree programs and to the development of future business leaders," said Prof. Lin Zhou.
"IE values cooperation with Chinese counterparts and the dual degree programs is the product of many years' hard work. Spain, where IE Business School is located, connects Europe with Latin America, whereas ACEM is located in the financial center of China. We hope to absorb the essences of both western and eastern business knowledge in order to develop high-impact business leaders with global perspectives," added Prof. Santiago Iñiguez.
ACEM is the first business school in mainland China to launch entrepreneurship education and has developed a three-step educational system of "theory-competition-practice". The MBA Entrepreneurship Competition, launched in 2002, has since become a prominent competition. In the past three years, ACEM's MBA Entrepreneurship Fund has supported 37 projects, giving out a total of 11 million yuan.
Antai's Master in International Business program focuses on learning business in China. The diverse student population in this program comes from over 30 countries across Asia, North America, Europe, Africa, with over 70% from western countries.
